Swimmers finish  2003-04 season at State Championships

In a field of the most talented swimmers of 3A, 2A and 1A high schools, the Outlaws freestyle relay team with Casey Meudt, Casey Pyke, Kyle Whipps and Justin Hedemark dropped another two seconds from their just recently established Sisters High School record and State qualifying time of 1:41.42. Plagued by colds and sinus trouble, the four swimmers met the challenge and swam to personal bests in each segment. Casey Meudt led the relay with a 24.5 second split, followed by Casey Pyke’s 26.4, Kyle Whipps with 24.9 and Justin Hedemark as anchor finished in 23.4 seconds. Their combinded time of 1:39.27 put them in 9th place.

Junction City and Marist were the only other District 3 contenders faster than the Outlaws. Junction City finished in 6th with a time of 1:38.66, qualifying for Championship Finals, and Marist was first alternate with a 1:38.97. Justin Hedemark finished 11th in his 100 yard backstroke entry and 12th in the Individual Medley.
