The Issues of Discussion

Well, to give you a bit of an intro as to what I focused on in my interviews, I will go over the main issues I ask about. Although they're not what the interview discussion is limited to, or even what it necessarily focuses on, but it's still what I try to get answered. Here's what they are:

  1. Conservative or Liberal?/Red or Blue? Why?: Today, it seems as though issues in the government are usually a struggle between Conservative and Liberal ideas (either that, or maybe I should get out more often). Also, the two main parties in the U.S. government are the Republican Party (red) and the Democrat Party (blue), and the two parties are also just about at opposite ends of the political spectrum (sometimes). Okay, so the truth may be that the American Communist and Nazi Parties or the opposites of the U.S. government as a whole, but the main political struggles in the said government are between the Republicans and the Democrats, and/or the Conservatives and the Liberals. So this issue is: What side, if any, of the main U.S. government's political spectrum are the interviewed people on, and why?
  2. How far should “separation between church and state” go, anyway? Why?: A big issue in politics today is whether or not faith should play a role in government decision-making, and how big that role, if any, should be. This issue asks what the interviewed person thinks about the issue, and why the have that opinion.
  3. What about the prayer in schools issue? Why?: This issue has ties to the previously mentioned issue, and I know that it's mostly resolved, but considering how SMS is a school, I figured I'd throw it in with the main issues of discussion. That being the case, this asks the interviewed person what their stance on prayer in schools is, and why.
