| No, this isn't the personals; this is so you know your source. Political reports can be quite biased at times, as obvious as it may or may not be. This is so that you can learn about the political positions of this site's author, me. Well, to begin, you might say that I'm red and right-wing. That is, you may be able to summarize most, if not all, of my political positions by saying that I'm Republican and Conservative. Yes, I know that those are separate parties, but my opinions usually agree with one of them or the other, sometimes both. As for the policies that I will be mainly asking about on this website, well let me address them one by one.
- Conservative or Liberal?/Red or Blue? Why?: I kind of started on this issue already, but perhaps I should go into greater detail. I usually choose the Republican/Conservative answer to an issue rather than that of their said political party antonyms. Take abortion, a really big factor, for example. I think that abortion, on a whole, is murder, and that it should be illegalized. Although, I also think that perhaps issues like the mother will die because of the birth if the baby's not aborted may require a bit more thought, I am very strictly opposed to abortion as a whole. I side with the Republican and Conservative parties on that issue because they would seek to have abortion banned, while their respective party opposites would protect a woman's “right to choose”. Also, basically, I think that a state-ruled government is an indecisive government, and thus, I support a federal government that is stronger than a state government, and side with the Republican Party over the Democratic Party.
- How far should “separation between church and state” go, anyway? Why?: I think that the U.S. Founding Fathers meant that the government was not to persecute people for their faith or require them to embrace one against their will. I DON'T think that they meant that “no part of the government shall, by any means, act based upon a faith.” I think that freedom of faith is an excellent thing, but I also think that we should be able to act upon faith when making decisions of government.
- What about the prayer in schools issue? Why?: I say that it should be allowed. Not forced, no one participates in it against their will, but people should be allowed, at least, to get together with others and pray. Regardless of what faith they are. If it is not (otherwise) unlawful/unruly, than public prayer should be allowed, I say.
