PLAYERS |
UCLA has some of the greatest players in the league. Darren Collison, Kevin Love, Josh Shipp, Russel Westbrook, and Mbah a Moute are their starters. Kevin Love came from Corvallis and averages over 16 points a game. He has scored 150 total points over the season. Darren Collison is one of the best point guards in the league. Josh Shipp can drain three pointers like school on Saturday; he is really good at shooting. Mbah a Moute is the best center that UCLA has. Moute wins many jump balls like at the beginning of the game, not because he is tall, but because he can jump extraordinarily high. Russel Westbrook is Darren Collison’s backup. When UCLA plays a really bad team, coach doesn’t want the best players to hurt themselves, so he plays the second string players like Russel Westbrook but Westbrook does really awesome backing up Darren Collison. Also, since UCLA is a very advanced team, Westbrook gets to play very often even though he isn’t the best. |
COACHES |
John Wooden used to be UCLA’s coach and he was the highest achiever. He won most of the titles that UCLA ever got. Ben Howland is the head coach right now and Scott Garson is the assistant coach. Ben Howland is 41 and he signed a contract to coach UCLA until 2013. His philosophy is to play really tough man-to-man defense and ha believes that is the key to winning. Scott Garson is 32 and he used to be UCLA’s video coordinator. He graduated from Santa Barbara, California. |
