Soccer is an interesting sport!!!!
It has had many different names over the
years, feetball, football, and soccer. The sport came from Europe. A lot
of English monarchs didn't like it when their helpers played the sport
because people would complaint about accidents that would happen and
things would break. Soccer survived and became a popular sport. A man
names J.C. Thring wrote up the rules and made soccer much more popular.
The new
way we play soccer these days started in England, soccer came to America
in the colonial time. Soccer gained popularity around World War I. Girls
didn’t play until 1919. The girl’s rules were written around 1927. Soccer
is a popular sport in 53 different countries. |

THE BALL |
 |
| |
|
|
|
Soccer has I very unique ball that is played with. It
is round like all other sport balls but its design is what is the
coolest! It is like a bunch of hexto be a round ball that is filled with air and has a
circumference of 68–agons
(six sided shapes) that connect. Soccer balls can be lots of different
colors, any color you want! In the rule book of soccer it says that
the ball needs 70
cm and a weight of 14–16
ounces. It also must have a
pressure of 60–110
kPa. And the ball needs to have
leather all over it. The normal soccer ball is a
size 5. They also have smaller sizes that are used for little kids. |
