A man named
James Naismith invented basketball in about 1891 when he was at the
YMCA College in Massachusetts. The 1st basketball game
ever played was at the Massachusetts YMCA Training School. B-ball
became an Olympic sport in 1936 at the Berlin Games. The first men's
Collage Ball Championship was in 1939.The very first B-ball game
ever to be seen on TV was in 1940, it was held at Madison Square Garden (a
very famous place in New York).

| In a game of
Basketball there are 5 positions and each one is important. There first is
the point. The point stays at the top of the key. They are usually
are the best ball handlers on the team. They also set up the plays. The
other positions are the wings, there are 2 wings. The wings stand on the
side of the 3 point line that surrounds the key. Last but not least there
are the posts. The posts stand at the end of the key, were the little
boxes are. They are the big scary people, they play in the block and
they don't shoot 3's. |

There are so many different types of shoes that you can wear but the
best are the ones you wear wile playing basketball!!! They have Zoom
Lebron IV, Nike Air Max 360 B-Ball, Wades McGrady, and so much
more!!! But my favorite shoes ever are my Lebron III's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There
are thousands of different types of shoes for basketball and if you
go to nike.com you will find a few of the bests!!!

game of volleyball there are 6 players 3 in the front row and three in the
back. Volleyball is not a very popular sport so there aren’t any real
famous people! |
