The basic gear needs for soccer are; shin guards, socks, and cleats. During a game you need a jersey matching the rest of your team members and a different color of the opposing team. You normally have two jerseys; one for away games and one for home games. Usually the darker of the two is your away jersey. You also have a pair of shorts that matches the rest of your team. Your number is found on the back of your jersey, and in the case of some teams it is also located on your shorts. Your number separates you from the rest of your teammates. No one on your team should have the same number as you.
