If you know whats good for you, don't mess with me!Same here! Don't mess with me!Do you want to keep your nose?Hi! I like you, will you take me home?BACK OFF!

CRABS ARE SOME OF THE COOLEST CRITTERS AROUND!  If you don’t think so, I’m going to try to change your mind.  If you have tried to pick one up, and it pinched you, it is not because the crab is mean.  The poor thing was only trying to defend itself.  One word of advice, don’t try to pick one up again.  Neither of you will appreciate it.  Crabs are pretty talented and smart.  For example, you know that octopus’ eat crabs right?  Well, Hermit crabs that live in the wild have come up with a defense against their famous foe.  They grab sea anemones and put them on their shells.  The crab stays safe, and the anemone is happy because he gets leftover scraps to keep him fed.  Fiddler crabs have really long claws which separate females from males.  The males have one really long claw, and the females have two short claws.  The way males attract females is how long their one claw is.  If a male's long claw gets ripped, bitten, or torn off, its small claw grows long and the ripped, bitten, or torn off claw grows to become the small claw.  Some crabs do a mating 'dance'.  I told you crabs are cool!
