Protopunk performers were the precursors to punk rockers, but they weren’t a cohesive movement. Instead they were a random group of people who didn’t want to play the regular music. They still played rock n’ roll, but it wasn’t as flashy as some of the other bands or music styles. They weren't perfect, but they were a powerful movement.
