In the early 70’s a group of people came out against the commercialized music industry and took over. It was a group of people who took rock n’ roll and striped it down to the bare basics and changed it forever. These people were some of the lowest of the low in society. These were the punk rockers.
Many sub groups formed, such as hardcore or emo, but the most of them remained hidden in the shadows of obscurity, never to gain commercial success.
Some bands had small followings, like the Ramones, others had huge groups of people following them across the country. One of the groups that followed punk rock, alternative rock, gained huge popularity after the new millennium. This is their story.
