Barry sanders short 10 year career is what made his big numbers so amazing besides the fact that he played for such a bad team. He rushed for 15,269 yards 99 touchdowns. He had a 5.0 rushing average and received for 2,921 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns over 10 years. Barry sanders was inducted into the hall of fame his first year eligibility in 2004. He was one of the greatest football players the world has ever seen and is honored as one in the most coveted place in nfl history, the hall of fame. The hall of fame currently only has a very select few of players making it the hardest to get award in professional football.

Barry sanders retired in 1999. He was very young and at the peak of his game when he retired. Many wondered why he made the choice he made instead of playing football for 3+ more years. Maybe he wanted to keep his body in shape. Maybe he just didn’t want to play anymore. It doesn’t matter however, he still has stats of a 15 year decent running back. That’s how good he was. He was a N.F.L great and will always be remembered as one.
