  Marie Antoinette's Wedding!!!!  

Louis XVI

Marie Antoinette was 15 or 16 when she married Louis IVX. It took about two weeks for the Dauphine (Marie Antoinette) from Vienna, Austria to Versailles, France.

When she stepped out of the carriage she flung kneeled on her her knees and said "Monsieur mon frère et très cher grand-père" to her future father-in-law. Which means "Mister my brother and dearest grandfather"

Marie Antoinette saw before her a distinguished figure with "large, full, prominent black piercing eyes and a roman nose," a monarch at even age sixty was generally regarded a "handsome man" Marie Antoinette

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI had a lavish wedding. Their relationship was very awkward and often times quiet. After a while people began to make fun of them because Marie hadn’t have children yet. Many people blamed her but it was really Louis’s fault.

“If a young girl as charming as the dauphine cannot fire up the Dauphin… it would be better to wait for time to remedy such strange behavior.”

Marie Antoinette's first 2 children

December 19, 1778 she has gave birth to her first child. The baby was born just before 11:30 a.m. It was a girl named Marie Thérèse Charlotte. She was not the desired gender but Marie Antoinette still loved her.
“ The happiest and most important event for me”;  Marie Antoinette said in a letter after giving birth to her first son. His name was Louis Joseph. Marie Antoinette had 2 more children. A son named Louis Charles and a daughter named Madame Sophie. Unfortunately she died as a baby.
