Orc Strategies

As the orcs, no other race can oppose you unit for unit with basic units.  Take advantage of this early and often.  When starting a custom game, take one of your peons and build an altar of storms.  Use one of your peons to harvest wood and two to harvest gold.  when the altar is underway and if there are enough recourses, build a barracks and a burrow or two.  As soon as the altar is completed begin building your first hero, a Tauren Chieftain is the best choice, but if you know you will have plenty of time to creep hunt, a Blademaster can make a great first hero.  Once the barracks is built and there is enough food, build grunts to help your hero creep hunt.   Continuously hunt as you build up your defenses and climb the tech tree.  The next building you should build is a war mill to speed up lumber gathering (make sure to build it near a large source of lumber.  Once the war mill is built, create an army of troll headhunters for defense.  Then build some watchtowers far away from your base to warn of enemy attack.  Get a spirit lodge so you can build witch doctors and place sentry wards and stasis traps. Once all these steps are complete, You should have a very well fortified base.
When creep hunting, make sure that no creeps are killed outside of aura range of a hero because if they are, the experience is wasted.  Also make sure that in large battles, there are heroes evenly spaced around the battle field, because smart players try to lure enemy troops away from their heroes so that the heroes do not get the experience if the attacking units are killed.
