There are many different types of skateboarding. One is long boarding, long boarding is and older style of skateboarding but people today still do it today. On a long board most people ride down big hills and turn really sharp. Another type of skateboarding is old school. People who ride old school have boards that are shaped differently than the ones that you are probably used to, they are pointed on one end and flat on the other. The last type of skateboarding is modern day skating. The modern day skateboarders have a board that is rounded on both ends, these riders either ride vert which is on table tops and half pipes, or street which is stuff like jumping stairs and doing tricks on boxes.
The different types of tricks vary between street and vert, some street tricks are; kickflip, heelflip, popshovit, variel heelflip/ kickflip, hardflip, 360 flip, and an ollie. Some vert tricks are; melon, indy, method, nosegrab, tailgrab, airwalk, madonna, benihanna, and a japan. Vert Skateboard Ramp
A few of the very first skaters were Jay Adams, Stacey Peralta, and Tony Alva. They were also very excellent surfers and were from California. all of these people grew up together and were great friends. I hope that you have learned something from all of this information.
