Skate for Life
Danny Way in the X-Games Have you ever heard of skateboarding? Ha-ha, just kidding. Skateboarding originated in about the 1950’s and was inspired by surfers. They would take their old roller skate wheels and trucks then put them on a piece of wood. The surfers called it sidewalk surfing because they would do moves on it like you would on a surfboard. The very first skateboard was shaped like a miniature surfboard. One of the very first skateboard brands were Zephyr and Santa Cruz. Bucky Lasek in the X-Games
Some skate brands are Spitfire, Independent, Plan-B, Halo, Speed Demon, Bones Reds/ Swiss, Royal, Thunder, and element. Spitfire makes wheels. Independent, Royal, and Thunder make trucks, but some people call them axels. Halo, Speed Demon, and Bones make bearings. Plan-B, and Element make skateboard decks and clothing.
