The main characters are Blibo Baggins, Gandalf and 13 dwarfs.

Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit. A hobbit is a small creature which is about half of your height and are slightly chubby. They dress in bright clothes and are very good natured. Hobbits laugh deep laughs and can do no magic. They live in holes. These holes are not smelly, dirty, and gross but are clean and comfortable. There is a round door with a doorknob in the exact middle. Bilbo Baggins was about 50 when he started this journey. His father is Mr. Bungo Baggins and his mother is Belladonna Took. He was hired by the dwarfs to be a burglar.

Gandalf is the wizard that helps Thorin and Company on their expedition. He is a grey wizard and is known through out the Shire as a great storyteller and having wonderful fireworks.

The 13 dwarfs names are Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, and the most important one Thorin, Thorin Is the grandson of Thoror who was the king of the Lonely Mountain before the dragon took it.
