The Hobbit is very exciting and suspenseful.  It is about one hobbit,  13 dwarfs, and a wizard. They all go on a adventure to get the dwarfs gold which was stolen away by the evil dragon, Smaug. It all starts when Bilbo, who is the hobbit,  meets Gandalf. Gandalf  asks Bilbo to go on a adventure but Bilbo says no because him like most hobbits hated adventures.  So he invites Gandalf to tea a few days later. Then when Gandalf should have came for tea instead 13 dwarfs came. They told him of there gold which was stolen by the dragon and how he must come with them on a journey to get it back. He was to become a burglar. So the next day he leaves on the long walk to the Lonely Mountain. On the way there they meet trolls and go into a evil goblin's cave. The goblins capture Gandalf and all the dwarfs. Bilbo is left to save them. He ran into a cave and gets lost. Then he meets the weirdest creature ever, Gollum. Gollum is a nasty, um what shall we call him, well just click here to learn the background of him and you can decide for your self. Well Bilbo saw him in his boat and decided to ask him how to get out of the caves. Gollum wants to eat Bilbo but instead he says that they will play a riddle game and if Bilbo wins then he will show him the way out but if he doesn't then Gollum will eat him. So they begin the riddle game. They say riddles back and forth and they know the answer to all to them. Then Bilbo asks "what have I got in my pocket." Gollum has 3 guess and he didn't get any. The real thing that Bilbo had was Gollum's ring. The ring was a very special. It was more powerful than Bilbo ever imagined. Bilbo thought that it was only a magical ring that turned you invisible when you put it on. So he put it on and none of the goblins saw him and he, the dwarfs, and Gandalf got out of the cave safely. They meet wolves, spiders and elves before they finally reach the Lonely Mountain. When they get there the fine out the happiest news they had heard in a long time. It was that dragon Smaug had been killed by a lake man named Bard. Then they saw Bard, other lakemen, and the elves coming to get some gold because they thought they deserved some because they did kill the dragon. So they discussed whether or not they men and elves should get any treasure and the dwarfs were still saying no. They were about to fight each other  when they see goblins and wolves coming to fight the dwarfs because they dwarfs had killed their king. The wolves were sort of the goblins friends and mad too that the dwarfs had escaped  them.  The war of the 5 armies began and the 5 armies were the elves, men, dwarfs, wolves, and goblins. The elves, men, and dwarfs had to join together to defeat the wolves and goblins. They did it and conquered they goblins and evil wolves. But Fili, Kili, and Thorin were killed in the battle. So the rest of the dwarfs and Bilbo headed home.
