Have you ever about Pentagames, or what it is? No? Well thanks to this page you will be able to find out all about it. I will also tell you all about how many events there are, what we do in them, who was on this years Pentagames team, all the awards that were given to individuals and to the whole team, and how our school ranked among all the other teams.

Pentagames as you may know are a series of five (penta means five) different math games. Some of them are individual games, and some of them are team ones. Here are all five of the games and a short description of them.

Math Tac Toe: This activity is patterned after Tic Tac Toe. A variety of math problems are presented on a 3 by 3 grid. Point are earned for correct answers and tic tac toes. You can get individual awards or team awards.

Solve That Problem: Grade level teams, that are arranged by school, bid on the time they think it will take them to solve the problem, and then they solve that problem together. Points are rewarded for having the shortest "bid time" and solving the problem within their bidden tim. You can use calculators in this activity. Here only team awards are awarded.

35 Minus: Math problems are shown on the overhead, with a different time limit for each problem, depending on how hard it is to solve. When the time is up, the problems are corrected. Points are based on the number of correct answers. In this activity team awards and individual awards are given.

CR Squared: Grade level teams are arranged by school, will estimate and revise answers to the given problem. You get to see facts on one object and then you have to guess facts for other similar objects. After your first guess they give you first one set of clues, then a second set of them. Based on these you revise your answer. In this activity calculators can be used. In this activity team awards and individual awards are given.
Relay: Team members run from one side of the gym to the other side, solve a math problem, and run back to the rest of their team. Then the next team member runs and solves a problem, and so on. Only team awards are given.

For each Pentagames each school gets to send 9 students, three 7th graders, three 8th graders non algebra students, and three 8th grade algebra students.

Seventh Graders:   Emily Rawls,  Dylan Hicks,  Jacob Keeton
Eighth Graders Non Algebra:   Sarah King,  Amanda Wimer,  Even Keeton
Eighth Graders Algebra:   Andrew Legg,  Dane Moorhead,  Hayden Stein
