Welsh Corgis were developed in the country of Whales. The Welsh thought that little fairies, at night would come and ride on their back and put them to work, like pulling little carts full of leaves and twigs so they could build their houses. Welsh Corgis are known as herders. They herd goats, cows and horses. Their shortness is just right for cows and horses because they can nip at their lower legs.

Welsh Corgis are very small dogs. When they’re born they are about 3 inches tall and 7 inches in height. They get to be 2 and a half feet in length and it depends on how much you feed your Corgi for it height. There are 2 types of Corgis, there is the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and there’s a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Pembroke's have a stub for a tail and they’re al mostly tan but a lot of them have black around their eyes, some of them have the colors of a cardigan. Not very often though. A Cardigan has a fox tail. The coloration of them is of black, white, brown, and grey.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Cardigan Welsh Corgi

My Corgis name is Betsy. Her full name is (Winter Flowers Stars and Stripes) She was going to be a show dog but she didn’t grow to be the size of a show dog. She was the runt of the litter. We got her from a breeder in Redmond. When we got her she was 1and 3/4 old. We have had her for 2 months now. She was really timid when we first got her. We think she was abused with the first family that she was with, but she is finally starting to get used to us.
