In seventh grade the football is tackle. So we need a
lot of equipment. When you are playing you are wearing about 300 dollars on
your body. The most important piece of equipment there is the
helmet. The
helmet protects your brain from injury. Another important piece of equipment
are the shoulder pads. They are important because your shoulders are a big
part of the game of football because you use them to tackle and when
you run the ball you use your shoulders to keep people from tackling you. Football pants aren't just regular pants.
Football pants are padded with pads on the thighs, knees, hips and tail
bone. Some pros take the pads out of their pads but we have to leave them
in. Another piece of vital football equipment is the mouth guard. This keeps
your mouth from being cut up or your teeth from being knocked out.
Football
cleats are probably the most definitive piece of equipment. If you are
a big lineman you wear huge cleats with a strap on them and fast running
backs wear lightweight ones. Footballs are the main thing you need to play
football. They are an oval shape and are made of leather, except some are
made of rubber. Click the thumbnail below to see a big picture of our game
jerseys.

Erik Carlson is a quarterback and a linebacker. He doesn't play defense
very often but every has to have a offensive and a defensive position. He
threw a touchdown against LaPine and ran for one against Redmond.
