Mr. Garland teaches 7th and 8th grade math. He teaches kids about linear algebra, graphing, exponents, scientific notation and other cool things. He tries to teach on how to be a good person, and enjoying his life by remodeling. These are just some of the many things I am gonna tell you about Mr. Garland, and his past.

            It all started when he went to get his degrees at George Fox University and University of Oregon (Go Ducks!!!). He has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a master’s degree in education. He has high expectations when it comes to his disciplinary actions. When he asks students to do what they are supposed to do and they do not, he asks him/her to leave the classroom. Follow the rules!       

            Prior to coming to SMS, he worked at the Kent Mountain Adventure Center in Estes Park, Colorado. He also worked at The Home Depot. He grew up in Beaverton, Oregon. Throughout middle and high school he played almost every team sport until he concentrated on tennis.

After high school, he went to southern Oregon University before sailing around the world on the Semester at Sea program. After he returned, he went to the University of Oregon and studied environmental science. He moved to Colorado for a few years, where he worked at Kent mountain adventure center.

 From working in Colorado at the Kent Mountain Adventure Center, to coming to SMS. Mr. Garland has seen it all. Thank you for coming to my page, and reading about Mr. Garland.
