| The
elementary school, grades K-4, serves approximately 450 students.
All students receive instruction in language arts, math, science,
social studies, health, art, music and physical education. The
degree and depth increases with each grade level.
In addition,
students have the opportunity to participate in a number of programs
which were developed and offered to enrich and expand the regular
curriculum, such as SMART, looped classrooms, full-day kindergarten
choice, Open-Court Phonics program plus literature based
whole-language experiences, cooperative learning group strategies,
computer lab, enrichment center, field trips, after school art, and
Spanish clubs.
Our parents and community members are
very active in our school. Annually, over 300 parents and
community members participate with teacher classroom support, field
trips, our Sisters Parent Teacher Community (SPTC) group, Art
Literacy, Site Council and other valuable contributions.
