While it is common for high schools around the nation to offer web design courses, SHS is not common in the least. Students in web design courses here code XHTML and CSS standards based sites by hand. Students in web design leave the class with a working understanding of design theory, current trends in web design, and a solid foundation in cross-browser design that allows them to create stunning pages that display correctly on all major browsers. In addition, instead of the standard portfolio sites seen in many other web design courses, students here create destination sites that seex to be knowledgable and useful to those who visit them.
