About Us

What is “Leadership” at SHS?

Leadership is defined as “The ability to affect human behavior so as to accomplish a mission designated by the leader”, and at Sisters High School we have an entire class devoted to gaining that ability.  We strive to develop good judgment, vocal and persuasive skills.  We also focus strongly on management skills and event planning.  Within the class committees are formed to tackle tasks such as dances, school parades and assemblies.  We are an active part of the Sisters High School culture and we contribute to the overall SHS experience.

How can I get involved?

There are many ways that you can become a part of the leadership program. The easiest way is to enroll in the class, it is only one trimester and it has open enrollment, freshman through seniors are welcome. The class is available all three trimesters. Also if you want to volunteer at events but not take the class, you can contact Kelsey Price (email) or any student currently enrolled.

What kind of work does leadership do?

Everything from planning school dances to the homecoming court to senior graduation. Also during the third term leadership host Prom. Leadership also focuses and has a unit specifically centered on speech. During the class there are opportunities to give CIM graded persuasive speeches, and improve your presence in front of a crowd. You will also focus on famous leaders in history and how they effectively lead the people of there time.
